Prop 100

Hey CLAS students!

There’s an important special election coming up and you need to register to vote by April 19th so that you can vote on Proposition 100, this proposition will affect your education!

Proposition 100 is a state-wide initiative.  If passed, Proposition 100 will temporarily increase the sales tax by one percent for the next three years and state funding for higher education will remain at its current levels.  If it fails, the state will cut higher education by $120 million.

By law:

2/3rd of Prop 100 revenues go to education. The remaining 1/3rd goes to public safety, health and human services. This is mandated by the constitutional language in the proposition.
Proposition 100 is temporary. It expires on May 31, 2013. This expiration will be written into the Arizona Constitution by voters.

The deadline to register is April 19th at 5:00 PM.
